160 161 DRILLING To note: the rotation speed of the drill bit FQC are limited for security reason in use of drill bits. Indeed, in case of important runout, the drill bit could bend and hit the user. Drilling only in rotation in non-tempered glass with water, in ceramic (porcelain), in faience. ø Rotation speed rpm Short series Long series 3 3 185 - 4 2 390 - 5 1 910 - 6 1 590 800 7 1 365 800 8 1 195 900 9 1 060 900 10 955 955 11 870 870 12 800 800 13 735 735 14 680 680 16 600 600 18 530 530 20 475 475 22 435 430 24 400 400 26 365 370 28 340 340 30 320 320 ø Rotation speed rpm 3 850 4 850 5 850 6 850 7 850 8 650 9 650 10 650 11 650 12 650 13 650 14 650 16 650 18 650 20 650 22 650 24 650 26 650 28 650 30 650 30 and + 650 ø Rotation speed rpm Plastic Steel 750N/mm² Steel 1100N/mm² Glass Hard wood Plywood 4 4 775 1 590 795 400 3 000 3 000 6 3 185 1 060 530 285 3 000 3 000 8 2 385 800 400 220 3 000 3 000 10 1 910 640 320 170 3 000 3 000 12 1 590 530 265 140 1 500 1 500 14 1 365 455 225 125 1 500 1 500 16 1 195 400 200 110 1 500 1 500 ø Rotation speed rpm 3 500 4 400 5 330 6 285 8 220 10 170 12 140 14 125 ø Rotation speed rpm Steel 750N/mm² Steel 1100N/mm² 1 6 400 3200 2 3 200 1590 3 2 120 1060 4 1 590 795 5 1 275 635 6 1 060 530 7 910 455 8 800 400 9 700 355 10 640 320 11 580 290 12 530 265 13 500 245 14 455 225 16 400 200 18 355 175 20 320 160 22 290 145 24 265 135 26 245 120 28 225 115 30 210 105 Drilling only in rotation. Replace worn parts. You always have a dust cap in good condition on the chuck that reduces its wear and get better performance with the drill bit. THE DRILL BIT A twisted drill bit will not make a circular hole. Always keep the attachment of your drills bits clean on the cleaner with a cloth and lubricated with the recommended grease. TIPS FOR IMPLEMENTATION Always use a machine compatible with the drill bit used, for this it is advisable to consult the instructions to use of the machine. See also our compatibility tables. For demonstrations, never drill beyond the cutting length of the bit. Drilling deeper can result in obstruction of the hole and premature failure of the drill. When drilling, it is strongly recommended to carry out frequent deburrings. The pressure exerted on the machine must be constant and uniform. For better performance, it is important to let the punch work, so the pressure on the machine should not be too strong. Excessive pressure can also cause heat of the drill bit and on the carbide tip and increase the risk of breakage. You must be in a stable and adequate position while drilling. The drilling must be done in an axis perpendicular to the material to be drilled. Drilling in an oblique axis will damage the drill bit.
